Karen Csejtey, Executive Director

Karen Csejtey [chaytay] has been with LMP since 2001. She is a graduate of Leadership Palo Alto, CA, and has over 30 years experience in the nonprofit sector and small business enterprises. Karen has owned and operated two businesses and co-founded three nonprofit organizations where, at various times, she served as executive director, board member, program director, and volunteer. For the last 25 years, she has maintained an organizational development training and consulting practice along with her other work.

For nine years, Karen was the executive director of Touchstone Support Network dedicated to providing support services for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. After that she launched, and for seven years directed, the Women Entrepreneurs Program on the San Francisco Peninsula providing a variety of services to train and support women (and a few good men) in successfully starting and running their own businesses. She was also a founding board member of the California Association for Microenterprise Opportunity.

She came to Leadership Monterey Peninsula from Family Service Agency of Monterey County where as Development Director, she assisted in the transition of a newly merged organization, and where she created a Fund Development Department and coordinated a variety of fundraising activities in support of child abuse prevention and intervention programs.

Karen has a BS degree in Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco, a certificate in Training and Human Relations from UC Santa Cruz and extensive additional training in business management, community leadership, fundraising, project management, mediation and nonprofit administration. She is the recipient of the Jefferson Award from the American Institute for Public Service in Washington, DC, the “For Those Who Care” Community Service Award from KRON TV in San Francisco and the Athena Award from the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce.


Jessica Mayer, Administrative Consultant

Jessica Mayer has been the owner since 2002 of Human Resources Management & Support Services.  She has been with LMP since 2006 and has a BS degree in Business Administration/Human Resources Management from San Jose State University.

Jessica brings a varied background to LMP.  She has experience at an estate planning law firm, criminal law firm and administrative/bookkeeping consulting with various for-profit and non-profit companies/organizations in the Monterey County area.  Jessica is co-owner of Peninsula Custom Masonry, Inc. which provides beautiful artisan masonry work on the Monterey Peninsula and beyond.
